It's consumerism without much research into what it's made of or where it came from - as well as wanting the latest in technology at all costs. Others feel more comfortable with being surrounded with the OLD - the richness that only age can give when lovingly cared for in the previous life. These homes can be covered in lead paint (!), but were well built with real wood. Then there are those who desire only to live with NATURAL materials - green building - with all the good and bad hype that goes with it no matter where the products come from or how expensive they may be.

Have you ever thought about living in a home that is completely Handcrafted of local natural building materials? Natural hardwoods or stone is the basic element. You want to fill it with beautiful, functional, and durable furnishings made by real craftsmen in your region. Everything in this sanctuary would be carefully selected for purpose, form, and function based on your personal taste.

Building a handcrafted home requires thoughtful planning. Energy consumption and needs to be addressed and integrated in the design. Traffic flow, windows, ceiling heights, as well as solar orientation and heating/cooling choices needs to be discussed before pencil is put to paper. The enlightened builder will do their homework. They will understand supporting the community they have chosen to dwell in. The builder of their home will listen and respond accordingly. This is a house that will speak proudly of the owner.

I welcome and encourage like minded individuals to give our little company a look if building a sanctuary is in your future. Visit us at http://www.homesteadtimberframes.com/ and see if we might become the beginning of the true handcrafted home you've been searching for....

What does your Handcrafted home look like?
